Japanese in Cuba

Lennon invited me to the #concert. This Lennon who recorded some solo and background #sounds to four of my#songs. Only one of them is published #online - Goodbye #Malecón. #Listen to it and try to identify the #vibraphone... ;)

The concert had place in the #gardens of #Teatro Mella. One of my favorite places in #Vedado district. #Tropical #plants, a #stage under a big wall painted with #art#concerts in afternoon and evenings. Relaxed atmosphere and cheap drinks. I couldn't ask for more.

Lennon plays in diversity of bands, mostly #jazz groups. He took care of #percussion this time, supporting Kono - an extraordinary #Japanese guy who spent 20 years on the #island already. They performed a few jazz standards plus some Japanese #compositions in Cuban #arrangements. What a #mix of #cultures!

I admire Lennon for this reason - taking part in #unique projects, playing with #conventions, leaving his #comfortzone. I love his #personality, too. I proposed him a new collaboration after the concert. Working together on new compositions while also inviting some of his greatest jazz friends for live recordings. The new is coming...!
